IE Spotlight mailer
- Responses
- New customers
- Total revenue
- Profit
- ROI
new customers pays for your ad.
These figures are estimates for illustration, not guarantees. Actual results depend on your business, offer, category and ad.
How these numbers work
- Response rate
- The percent of homes that take action after getting your ad: they call, visit, click or book. Commonly cited direct mail response rates run around 1–2%, but it varies with your offer, design and type of business. The starting point here is a cautious 1%.
- Conversion rate
- Of the people who respond, the percent who become paying customers. The examples use 10–30% depending on the business. Restaurants tend to convert more easily because it's a simple walk-in, while service businesses usually have a higher barrier.
- Average revenue per new customer
- What a new customer typically spends. The examples are about $50 for a restaurant (a party of two at roughly $25 each), $75 for a hair salon visit, $300 or more for a tattoo shop, and $1,000 or more for home services.
ROI here is revenue minus your ad cost, so factor in your own margins. These are starting points, so plug in your own numbers to see what the return could look like for your business.

Quick answers.
How much does it cost?
$350 for a small spot, $600 for a large spot and $1,000 for a double spot. Design is included in every price.
How many homes will it reach?
The Riverside mailing is planned for 10,000 targeted households in higher-income neighborhoods.
What is EDDM, and how is the mailer delivered?
The mailer goes out through USPS Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM). Instead of mailing to a list of names, EDDM delivers to every address on the postal carrier routes we choose. That's why the mailer is addressed to “Local Postal Customer” instead of a person's name. There's no mailing list to buy, every household on those routes gets a copy, and it arrives with the regular mail. We choose routes in neighborhoods that fit the mailing, such as higher-income areas for the Riverside edition.
How many businesses are on each mailer?
Each mailer has room for up to 10 ad spaces per side, and a typical mailer carries about 20 businesses across both sides. The layout is flexible: two Small spaces make one Large, and two Large spaces make one Double, so it adjusts to the mix of ads sold.
When does it mail, and what's the deadline?
The next mailing goes out January 15, 2027. To be included, reserve your spot and send your materials by December 4, 2026.
Do I need to design my own ad?
No. Professional ad design is included. Send your logo, photos, offer and business information, and we'll create an ad that fits the mailer and represents your business well.
What if my category is already taken?
Each category is limited to one business per mailer. Spots are first come, first served, so get in touch and ask about future mailings if yours is already reserved.
Do you mail in other cities?
IE Spotlight is set up city by city, and each edition carries its local name, such as Riverside Business Spotlight, Fontana Business Spotlight or Corona Business Spotlight. Now booking: Riverside. Coming next: Fontana, Corona, Norco, Jurupa Valley and Eastvale. Tell us where your customers are and we'll let you know when that city opens.
How do I reserve a spot?
Fill out the form below. We'll get back to you within 1 to 2 business days to confirm your category is open and walk you through next steps.
